HDFA’S JULY BATCH, 2019 STUDENTS GRADUATION CEREMONY, SHORT FILMS PREMIERE & AWARDS CERTIFICATIONS

High Definition Film Academy’s academic calendar is designed and structured to run a 3 batch, annually – January, May and September – per academic session. For now, either you run a 3 months or a 6 months program.  Available courses ranges from Acting to Filmmaking, Editing, Cinematography, Screenwriting and Directing. [For more details click HERE]

It was a memorable day of short films premiere, awards certification, interactive sessions, questions segment and red carpet moments during the July batch students’ graduation ceremony which held at High Definition Film Academy complex in Gwarimpa, FCT – Abuja.

Starting with a red-carpet session (which was anchored by Michael Irabor & Agatha Sambo) at about 12:30pm when the invited guests and the graduands started trickling in, the whole atmosphere was all gloss, conducive, heartwarming and very welcoming. Those present at the event asides the graduands were, Ayo Emmanuel, Bruno Iwuoha, Moses Nwokedi (Big Mo), Kassim Braimah, Iyke Adiele, Wale Adesanya, Bella Ike and Gertrude Seibi. Others are Uche Ibezim, Rose Abiodun and Amina Al-Makura.

After the red-carpet moments and brief interview sessions, the event kicked off properly with an official opening prayer by one of our Alumni, Iyke Adiele and was anchored by the Academy’s Director of Operations, Mr. Osas Iyamu. Afterwards it was followed by brief recognition of the special guests present. The Director of Academics, Mrs. Chinenye Obasi took over briefly, welcoming all and warmly navigating through the business order of the day; brief insight on the academy, its achievements, challenges and where it’s headed; what the day’s event entails and about the short films to be premiered plus the outstanding awards certifications for those remarkable students.

After 3 long months (July to September) of rigorous classroom lectures, series of practical sessions, assignments, private consultations and short films project shoot, it was time for graduation and outstanding merit awards certification. And so it was, on Friday, November 8, 2019 the ceremony reeled before the graduands and invited guests present. A total of 7 films were premiered (The Escape, Talk, Sacrifice, Fume, Guilt, Sortie and An Encounter at The Mall).

The outstanding merit award certifications went to:

  • Vincent Ishaya, Best Acting Student (Male)
  • Pearl Azu-Okeke, Best Acting Student (Female)
  • Prosper E. Arhawho, Best Editing & Best Directing Student
  • Sarah Odaise, Best Cinematography & Best Screenwriting Student.
  • Pius Onyebujor for Best Short Film.

On behalf of the management and staff of High Definition Film Academy and High Definition Film Studios, here is wishing you all a hearty congratulations and also to all the other the graduands.

The event gradually came to an end with a closing remark by the Director of Academics and was preceded by photo sessions.
